Sitting in a circle, the women visit while their hands weave hundreds of threaded bobbins into tiny strips of lace -- a skill that is nearly extinct. My Vintage Lace Quilt speaks to this timeless art form. It is my way of honoring the hands of our great-grandmothers who ended each day by turning the austere and harsh into the dainty and delicate.
