Rated 2 out of 5 by Tins from Covered in rust after first wash! So this is my first cast iron frying pan purchase. However I have used Cast iron for a long time and it's always been my mother's or grandmother's pans. So I am familiar with them. With these, I hand washed them (no soap, just water) so that I could use them and when I went back to them, they were COVERED in rust. I admit I didn't thoroughly dry them but I never have had to with my family's cast iron pans. Now I can't use these things and will have to scrape and scrub them and re-season them with oil. VERY disappointed. Thankfully I got these on black friday sale so I didn't pay much for them. Lesson learned. Don't leave even a DROP of water on these! Nice pans if they wouldn't rust.

Rated 4 out of 5 by huggles from found a great pans to cook in we brought these pans on a black friday sale we loves these pans they cook great and we dont have a problem with the rust on them like the other person. But u do have to season the pan after each use but u do that with any cast iron pan. You are not to leave them in water they will start to rust after weeks of water been in them. But the only problem we do have is cant find lids to fit these pans

Rated 5 out of 5 by Teddybear1410 from Great Price! Love cast iron skillets! Remember for first time only to scour the pans with soap and water and thoroughly dry. The seasoning process takes about 7 hours total to allow cooling time. You'll be seasoning 3 times in 2-hour increments. Start by seasoning whole pan with oil, bake in oven at 350 degrees for about 2 hours. Your pans will be hot so let them cool off to seal the seasoning. After pans have cooled, season pans with oil again and bake another 2 hours. Let pans cool off again, season with oil and bake another 2 hours.Keep in mind that while seasoning pans, don't use oven or stove to avoid any steam. If for some reason you forgot to season or there is rust, you'll need to soak the pan in 50% white vinegar and 50% water for 3 hours, scrub any remaining rust if there is any, rinse and dry thoroughly, heat on stove burner for 10-15 minutes to get rid of any moisture. Do NOT submerge in vinegar water longer than 3 hours. Once your pan is rust free again, you may start the seasoning process above. If seasoned properly, you'll enjoy your food cooked with cast iron skillets.
