As promised! This product does exactly what it is marketed to do: it keeps your eye makeup in place until you take it off. I need my makeup to stick around for long days, and does the trick! It is a little heavy when it first comes out of the container, but if you use your finger to dab it onto your eye the heat of your body will warm it up and work it in beautifully.
I also wear this product as a neutral eye base without any makeup. It covers up the discoloration on my eye lids but looks natural instead of giving the overly-perfected appearance some eye primers give when worn alone.
Overall, I'm glad this product is in my makeup bag!

Wonderful!I owned this product in Nude and finished the entire jar. For reference, I'm fair (usually Ivoire 110) and the Nude worked fine for me. I had no idea they carried other shades! Aquatique is a unique primer because it's creamy but still keeps your shadow looking nice and crease-proof for hours. When I finished this, I did move on to something else (cause I'm a makeup junkie), but sometimes I think about going back to this. It was really great, but I found it lasted about 7-8 hours and I needed something that kept my shadow going strong for a bit longer. Oh and the little pot lasts a looong time, so don't let the price discourage you!

Great product! This is a wonderful primer for a lot of reasons. It is very light and blends easily. My shadow wears well all day, never creases or fades and the color is more intense. It is easy to apply with my finger, but a concealer brush works well too and blends nicely. It also works well to give your lid a nice even tone and covers any darkness or redness you might have. I have heard people say that it dries out, but if you simply take your finger and swirl it around for a minute, it becomes light and creamy again! A tiny bit is all you need, so this product lasts FOREVER! It is a great value! One of my absolute fave products! I highly recommend :)

WHY, WHY WHY DID YOU EVER DROP PERFECTING EYE SHADOW BASE??????? It was the BEST product for eye shadow base around!!! I bought 25 of the product when you were closing out on it. I am now up a creek, I'm using the last one I bought. I've tried and my friends have tried your replacement , Aquatique Waterproof Eyecolour Base. IT"S TERRIBLE!!!!!!!! I don't UNDERSTAND how Lancome dose not realize how BAD this product is compared to your older base product. The other was smooth and creamy this new one is like cement. I hear soooo many people say the same thing. Now I have to look for a NEW Eye Showdow base, which will not be Lancome's. I wish someone from Lanocom will ANSWER my question, WHY!!!!!!!!

Aquatique vs. Ombre Perfecteur Eye Shadow BaseA Lancome rep suggested I try the Aquatique Eye Shadow Base Product after Ombre Perfecteur had been discontinued. I can't say that I like it. It's texture is too dry for mature eyes and pulls my skin when I apply it. The Ombre Perfecteur was sooo much better, went on smoothly and never creased. On top of that the Aquatique gets under my nails when I try to use it and makes a mess on my fingers. I cannot recommend. Wish Lancome had given more thought to keeping the Ombre Perfecteur product.

Excellent for controlling oily eyelidsI do not use eyeshadow, however I have excessively oily eyelids that cause my eyeliner to smear and look oily all the time. I have tried numerous well known brands from powders to creams and nothing had worked until now.
I have medium skin tone and first got the nude shade but that ended up being too light and it looked caked on and made all the lines and cracks very visible on my eyelids. I then reordered it in the color deep iwhich was the perfect shade for me. It looks very natural like I am wearing nothing at all. It lasts all day and I no longer find my eyeliner smudged underneath my eyebrows. No more shiny oily looking eyelids either.
I use a small angled eyeshadow brush to apply and a little goes a long ways.

Effective but awkwardAquatique is very long-lasting and keeps my eyeshadow from "dissolving" on my lids, which tend to be oily. The effect really lasts all day--on workdays I apply it early in the morning, and it keeps the shadow appearing good till bedtime. The problem is application. Long before I'm done with the product, it has become more dry and hard to apply. Even when the product is new, it's not easy. Using one's finger is possibly unsanitary; moreover, it's imprecise, particularly in the crease. Swabs don't work very well. Brushes don't work very well. A product that did work extremely well, and that had a foam-tip applicator, was Lancome's Ombre Perfecteur, which has disappeared from the line, much to my great frustration. Aquatique is better than nothing, but it's an inferior substitute for Ombre Perfecteur, which I wish Lancome would bring back!

awefulI was so disappointed when the ombre perfecteur was discontinued. I had to buy this stuff. I hate putting it on with my finger and it is heavier than what Im use to. I will not buy this again and am presently searching for a user friendly product.
