501 Original Shrink-to-Fit Jeans is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 1769.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Why change what's not broken? I'm a small town, blue collar guy that wears his jeans for work and play, and semi casual attire. I wear 501 STF and Wranglers almost exclusively. I have owned quite a few pairs of 501 STF. These were not marked 501XX, which may be the reasoning for my issues with the product, but I was surprised to see that the inseam no longer is double stitched like my older pairs, and the hem is much narrower. I doubt it will be a big deal in terms of quality, but it just looks a little "off" compared to what I expect out of my 501s and jeans in general. Had it not been for this, it would get a 5 star rating. Fit is still on, denim weight and look still seems good for the price tag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Real jeans, from the real west, always. Been wearin' 501's since junior high school in the 50's, that's 1950's by the way. We used to never wash so at some point you could stand 'em up in the corner. Sometimes we creased 'em, sometimes cut the hem off the bottom and starched and ironed a perfect one inch cuff. You were only ever cool if you had button front 501's. Nothing else was acceptable. to this day, I've gone through many a pair including riding horses, especially my Andalusian Stallion, Big Thunder. No joke. As a young man I wore 501's, as man I wore 501's, and as an old man I wear 501's. Just kinda fits the image...and the reality. Thanks Levi for inventing them.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not liking the changes made I have been wearing 501 Shrink to Fit sense i was 5 years old i am now 58 years old. I just bought a couple of pair and i noticed they were much thinner and no more double stitching on the inseam and the hem on bottom legs were much shorter. The fit is also not the same as they have been in the past. I think it is because levi has decided to sacrifice quality over profit margins and corporate greed .It is too bad to see such an icon go down this path. If I can get the old quality i would gladly pay for it. PS is there still some old style 501 shrink to fit, if so i would like to buy them.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from What Happened to the Cuffs? I've been wearing 501s for over 30 years and have always loved the style, the fit, and the wear of these Classics. What I don't understand is the recent change with the width and thickness of the stitched cuffs?? They used to be very thick and measured half an inch, but now they look like an after-thought and barely measure 1cm with very little thickness. That might sound like a very minor detail to you, but to a life-long customer with an eye for meticulous detail, I noticed and was not happy, and almost considered buying my "new" 501s from the vintage Flea Market and not from you. Please make the necessary changes to return the classic cuffs to their original width and thickness.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from From multiple countries I am a fan of 501's. So I placed for three more, including this one and two other colors. When I received the package, I noticed one jean was different from the two other. But none of them were similar to my previous one. Then I realized that they are from different countries (Mexico, Egypt and Poland). Being a supply chain professional, I understand the sourcing. However, I have a problem when the quality does not match up. The quality of cloth and stitching as well as finishing was the best for the one I had from Mexico, and then the quality degraded from Poland to Egypt. I am not going to return these but not thrilled about it. Levi's should do something about their quality discrepancy.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not the same as the last 501 jeans I ordered 2 pair of 501 jeans about 6 months ago that had a lot heavier material than these last 2 pairs. Not even close to being as heavy duty. These last 2 pairs of the same jeans are much thinner material. Plus the new pairs have way more room in the rear than the last purchase. I could weight 10 LB heavier and still not fill them out. Also I had to hem them up an inch which I have never had to do. So I'm disappointed in this purchase in the quality of the 501 jeans I just received . Not close to being the same quality as the 2 pairs previously bought from them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Will be changing to another brand Been wearing 501 shrink to fit since 1972, long before they were trendy, and they only came in one color. I dont wear these for style I wear them because they fit and they last for years, at least they used to. Just bought my last pair a while back. New narrow hem lets pants curl up at hem, stitching is lower quality. denim is definitely lighter weight, one wash and they felt like they had been washed 20 times! I guess the only people that would notice are the over 50 crowd, and Levis doesn't want our money anymore! Goodbye levis, am going to Carharts

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fit after some experimenting I, for the most part only ever buy Shrink to Fit levi's, so my blurb is mainly about that. These fit fantastic, my legs aren't skinny, but as a fitness instructor, they are well defined in the quads and hamstring area, so getting jeans to mold to your body shape is a huge plus. I do have a slight issue with getting consistency though on sizing. The manufacturer suggests that you go up a size and length, but I found that getting them true to size and soaking yields the best results for me. I went up in sizes as suggested, and well the result was a pair of jeans that seemed a bit frumpy. Your mileage may vary.
