Rated 5 out of 5 by Nau-Nau from Very Pleased I am a dollhouse & miniature collector and wanted my granddaughters to have a dollhouse just for them. I settled on this one and bought all the furniture and assessories that goes with it. When I bought it 1 1/2 yrs. ago they were 1 and they loved it then and love it to this day. I removed some of the furnishings that were not safe for them at that time and left alot of the furniture which is still holding up very well. It is big enough for my 7 yr. old granddaughter too & she loves it. It seems to work for several age groups. I own over 30 dollhouses and couldn't have picked a better one for my girls.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Melissa from My daughter loves her doll house!! This is just a gorgeous doll house. My daughter has been begging for it for months since she first saw it on display at one of our favorite stores. The price was a little out of our budget, but Grandma came to the rescue. Between Grandma and Mom & Dad she got the house and all of the rooms & accessory pieces for her birthday. Lucky girl!! My daughter is 9-years old though and will take very good care of it. She wants to be able to give it to her daughter and honestly, I think with a little TLC, this piece will last that long in true Melissa & Doug quality & fashion. It was a little spendy and took a while to assemble, but overall, we are all VERY pleased and it will provide my daughters (and son!) hours and hours of fun & creative play. Melissa & Doug have done it again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by CarolAnne from AWESOME! This dollhouse is wonderful! It is easy to put together and all the decorations/furniture/doll family are perfect! My daughter received this when she was 11 years old. This was a perfect age! This is NOT a dollhouse for little ones - the furniture and decorative items are small and not meant for rough play - I would say a mature 8 year old would enjoy it and up to 12+ years old. My daughter is now 13 - the dollhouse has held up beautifully and she still loves to play and rearrange furniture in it! This item has an heirloom quality to it - we will keep it for her children! If you are a collector and have the space for this kind of dollhouse ( we put it on a little table and keep it there!), then you will love it! Like all dollhouses it does require space - so keep that in mind when purchasing! Enjoy! The best pre-made dollhouse we have seen!

Rated 4 out of 5 by maya from Where does the older sister sleep? I haven't bought this yet, but I will in a few years when my girls are a bit older. (They are 5 and 1 now.) And please don't even think of discontinuing it, this is by far the nicest dollhouse I've seen. But, there is one major problem I see which I hope is taken care of by the time I purchase it -- there is no bed for the older sister!!!! I'd say that's a huge mishap! And even if someone doesn't use these particular dolls, most little girl's dolls are - little girls! So they need little girls beds, not cribs and an adult bed! Please make her a bed and maybe some some accompanying big girl furniture, she can share the room with the baby!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Dafydd from Large and well-built dollhouse and simple assembly I am far, far away from being a handyman so I was concerned about the 36 page instruction book but it turned out to be written for people like me and everything went well. It took a couple of hours but I wasn't rushing, either. There were a couple of screws that didn't line up with the holes on the roof but otherwise it was a perfect build. The finished product is impressively large and seems quite sturdy. I didn't put the finishing bits in the screw holes because I figure my daughter can do that if she thinks my granddaughter needs that... I am pleased with the house and will be interested to see it in a year after some use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Mom to 3 crzykds from beyond my expectations I bought this for my daughter for her 7th birthday. She had two dollhouses in her room, a fisherprice dollhouse and the dora castle. She played with them all the time and I thought she was getting too old for either and wanted to get her something a little more mature for her. My initial thought was to buy a kit and work on it together and have her decorate it. After I bought one and took out the instructions I realized that it entailed a great amount of time and energy than we could give it. I remembered that I saw the Melissa and Doug dollhouse at a boutique in town, after inspecting it, I realized it was actually better quality than the kits that come from a craft store and that it was all ready pre-decorated, no painting, no staining, wallpaper or flooring needed. It took me about 2hours to assemble it, this was with taking my time, drinking coffee and enjoying the time. I have never put anything like this together, all I needed was a drill, all the hardware was included and the holes lined up perfectly, very sturdy! The instruction booklet is 35 pages long, but it's basically 35 steps to completion, each page was a diagram of what needed to be done, very, very easy. I was so proud of myself and happy I didn't buy the one that was already assembled. My daughter was beyond ecstatic, when she saw this dollhouse. It is big, so she has a special corner of her room to put it in. The house matches her room decor..pink, pink, pink. She got furniture for her birthday as well from others, some Melissa and Doug furniture and some from a Craft store. The Melissa and Doug furniture is better made and more durable for play time and very stylish. If I want to be picky, I would complain about the size of the 3rd floor nursery, very small, but I am an adult woman who would complain about that, as a 7 year old girl with a big imagination I wouldn't even notice and would make it work. I remember playing with my dollhouses when I was little and they were alot smaller than this one and I never cared, it's called imaginative play. I am extremely happy with my purchase, beautifully crafted and great quality, I hope this is something she can pass on to her daughter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Two Cuties in Connecticut from Pretty Doll House Children would love to use this because this is such a great doll house. No girl would want to be without it. When I got this for my birthday I felt so excited. I thanked my mommy and daddy and then I started playing with it right away. I think I can pass this to my children. Girls would love this doll house a lot.

Rated 3 out of 5 by michael from Overall, nice doll house my young daughter received this doll house as a gift this christmas. we sat in the living room and assembled it together. the packaging is great - all pieces are individually wrapped for protection from scratches and dents. because of this, i was surprised to see a piece with a pretty substantial tear in the sticker covering one of the interior walls. assembly was explained well in pictures and some words. one of the disappointing aspects off the doll house is the fit of the roof onto the house. on ours, there are a number of gaps where the dormers meet the main roof. the gaps are as much as a quarter inch in some places, so they can be pretty noticeable. nonetheless, she is very excited, and overall, it is a very nice doll house.
