Reef Fanning Flip Flop Sandal is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 512.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Best sandals/flip flops/thongs ever Hands down the best, most comfortable, longest lasting sandal I've ever had, and I live in these things year round. Although in need of replacement now, I've had them for at least 8 years, and am now looking to buy another pair. I recently bought an alternate pair, but I'm ditching them because the 'flip flop' of the stiff sole drives me crazy. These Fannings do not make flip flop noises when you walk, and stay with your foot which makes walking far more pleasant. The only downside is the bottle opener. I wish they'd make the same sandal without the bottle opener. After a couple of years, it caused some midsole pain from the metal pushing through. However, that went away after about a year.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Only Flip Flops I will own As a few others have said.... Best in class. I own these in 6 colors. I have never been able to wear flip flops. They have always caused me to get blisters. I discovered these purely by accident in a clearance bin and tried them on because they looked nice. I walked around the store and realized they were not causing any chaffing, so I bought them. That was 6 years ago. I live in Florida, and these are almost the only thing I wear. Every pair still looks brand new. They are all still comfortable. The soles have not collapsed like I see with other brands. Unmatched style and comfort. I wear a size 9 shoe, but a size 8 Fanning fits perfectly.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Comfortable, not made to last. For beach loungers only All-in-all a comfortable flip flop, but for the amount of money I paid I was hoping for more than 2 summers worth of wear in New England. Straps chafed pretty bad until they broke in after a few weeks of wearing. Ultimately these did not hold up to the "rigors" of my daily summer life - the treads on the bottom of the sole wore first, becoming very slippery and the thongs have ripped out from the sole. The bottle opener is pointless - I don't want sand, dirt, bottom-sole-funk on my beer...just sayin. This time I paid for the brand name and ultimately got burned on an overpriced pair of flip flops.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Comfortable sandal, durability?? This purchase was a replacement of the same sandal. The first pair ripped after 1 1/2 summers of wearing...not impressed by that, but I do have two pair because they are very comfortable and I liked the sandals. Just wish you stood by your product better. For example, I have sent Nike shoes back d/t getting blisters, ripped 2 years after purchase, and Nike replaced with no questions asked. I am not thrilled that I had to spend another $50+ on the same sandal within 2 years, and seeing that I live in Wisconsin, you know that I am not wearing them year round. I wear them from about June-early Sept, and maybe 1-2 per week.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not sure about this pair Reef sandals have always been well made and fit well right out of the box. This time, all of the sandals purchased by people in our family seem to be slightly smaller/shorter and tighter than in the past. Might not buy again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Flipflop The only thing Id like to fix is to put some grip tape or something on the metal part of the bottle opener facing the ground. People tend to use the middle of their foot to step up on stuff and that bottle opener, being bare metal, is very slippery. For example, climbing into a lifted jeep. when I stepped on the rail of the jeep, not only did I scratch the rail but almost fell on my butt because the bottle opener made me loose my footing. So yeah, a little grip or something on that one small piece would be AWESOME! This is my 3rd pair in about 3 years. Great flipflop! Long Lasting and cool!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Quality not what I expected from Reef I finally put my old pair of Reef's (machado Low's) out to rest after about 7 or 8 years. I wore them non-stop and unless you really looked close at them, you couldn't tell. Beaches, wild parties, days walking around NYC, and even a handful of mild hikes and they help up great. I purchased the Fannings because I figured I would get similar if not better durability from Reef this many years later. After wearing them ONCE for about 8 hours at a barbeque over the weekend, I noticed that the colored Reef logo under my heel had almost completely worn off. This is very disappointing to me - I know this is mostly cosmetic, but when you pay a premium price for something, you expect premium quality. To me, this seems like an early indication that I will be replacing this much sooner than the 7 or 8 years I had my previous Reefs for. Especially given the fact that this is such a popular model and I was merely sitting/walking around a dry backyard, I feel like this should have been addressed as I cannot imagine I am the only one that has experienced it. Overall, it was just a big disappointment when I had expected the same quality I had experienced with my first pair of Reefs - to the point of not even looking at any other brands when it was time for a replacement. It seems that over the past years, Reef may have began to cut corners to increase their profit while still maintaining their premium price.
