Excellent carry-on spinnerI wanted four main features in a hard-side, spinner, carry-on: 1. Best possible dual-spinner-wheels. 2. Expandable. 3. Lightweight 4. TSA lock. My emphasis on wheels led to the Ricardo Rodeo Drive model. I've heard accounts of spinner wheels snapping-off, from rough baggage handling - they're more vulnerable and fragile than the heavy-duty recessed inline wheels on 2-wheel bags. I don't know how customers are supposed to figure-out which brands/models have better spinner wheels, but there seems to be something of a consensus that Hinomoto wheels are as good as it gets. It's the only specialized brand of wheels luggage makers brag about using. (Compare bragging about YKK zippers.) As for other features, the integrated external-bag strap wasn't on my features list, but it's something I'll sometimes use. Another feature not on my list, but worth noting, is the warranty. After perusing the Ricardo website, it appears they offer a better warranty on this particular Rodeo Drive model than on any other models they sell - perhaps no coincidence that it's the only model they advertise as having Hinomoto wheels. (Limited lifetime warranty plus three years of enhanced warranty that covers even damage from handling by airlines and hotels.) So on paper, this purchase was an easy decision. In practice, the advertised features and expected high quality appear to measure up. I've not compared these wheels with other spinner luggage, but these feel very durable and their operation is buttery smooth, making almost zero noise. Though the bag is feather light (7.6 lbs), everything about it feels solid: zippers, handles, locks, etc., all operate tight and smooth; the casing feels strong. I can't yet say whether the bag will hold up over time, but all indicators, including the generous warranty, suggest it will. I'll add that in my opinion, this bag looks great - very sleek and modern.
