Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Last Fry Pan You'll Ever Buy I’m an avid user of T-Fal pots and pans because of their durability and quality. I’m also an avid customer of Belk’s because of their frequent sales, discounts, and coupons that make a good deal even better. This 10” fry pan exceeded my expectations on both points; it’s a top-notch product at a great price. Anyone who has tossed away a frying pan because it became warped will immediately appreciate the weighty and solid construction of this pan. Despite its weight, this pan is still comfortable and manageable to lift and carry with one hand. The anodized surface resists scratching even if I use metal spoons and spatulas. The non-stick surface makes cleaning a breeze. While some non-stick pans make browning and searing almost impossible, this pan conducts heat so well that I can brown, sear, and even caramelize quickly and easily. The Thermospot system is actually a red patterned circle in the center of the pan, approximately the size of a half-dollar coin. When the pan has been properly pre-heated, the pattern disappears and the circle becomes a solid dark red. This is a great feature and I appreciate it the most when I’m pre-heating oil for frying. Never again will I add a drop of water to my oil and suffer the consequences of a back-splash oil burn! While a little shallow, the cooking surface of this pan is a full 10 inches and this means I can fit more in the pan at a time. While the pan doesn’t have a lid, I occasionally use a splatter screen on top to minimize any mess and that works just fine. I have a ceramic top stove and my largest burner is only 7 inches in diameter. With most other frying pans that are larger than my burners, I’ve found that foods on the outmost edges of these large pans don’t cook nor brown evenly because they don’t get direct heat. With other large frying pans, it became a game of checkers where I would move foods constantly throughout the cooking process so the ones in the middle didn’t burn and the ones on the outer edges cooked all the way through. This pan conducts heat so well that while I still have to rotate foods in the pan to ensure even cooking, I usually only have to do so just or twice once during the cooking process. But this is simply the fault of my small burners and not a flaw in the pan itself. I purchased this pan during an Early Bird Special and used a Belk’s email coupon so the price was simply outstanding. I would definitely recommend this pan to anyone who is looking for a solid, durable fry pan and wants one that will outlast all the fry pans that may have come before.
