Rated 5 out of 5 by JoshuaDuncan from Great shorts for long distance trail runs I purchased these shorts today from Sports Authority before going on an 8 mile cross country trail run, they are very comfortable. They didnt ride up my leg or chafe at all. The pockets had plenty of room for a clif bar and some energy gel shots, there is even a small little pocket in the waistline which was the perfect size for my sandisk mp3 player. The 7" length is perfect for me, Im 5'9 and they hit about 2" above my knee. My last shorts were just regular 9" shorts and they were just too long for running. I wear a 32" waist pants and the medium size short fits perfectly. I highly recommend these shorts and I will be buying another pair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by FlyersMike from Perfect Running Shorts As an avid runner (30-60 miles/week), I need shorts that perform. The UA Launch has exceeded my needs in every way. They fit perfectly and the mesh lining is not only perfect in the heat of my hometown (Las Vegas, NV) keeping me cool and dry, it is also requires no extra layers in the cold. The pockets work very well for nutrition packets during long runs. They wash well and are very durable. I have worn them for all nine of my marathons and all nine of my half marathons and will continue to wear them exclusively for all workouts, runs and future races. I highly recommend them and stand (run) behind my words 100%. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 3 out of 5 by BJames from Escape vs. Launch I noted another reviewer purchased these as they are the most comparable to the former "Escape" short (7" inseam with a mesh liner). I love the Escape version (I have 4 pairs), and I purchased these as the Escape seemed to be retired. The outer short has a larger waist band which I personally do not mind, but I liked the smaller (by smaller I mean shorter) band. My 'con' on this product is the mesh liner. It has larger holes and fits tighter (I've not gained weight). When I run or even lounge in the shorts, the liner curls up a significant amount and I'm constantly adjusting it. Overall I would say this is a decent product, but the mesh liner of the Escape was far superior.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Dude007 from Agree with Previous Reviewers Regarding Fit - Escape vs.Launch Tried to reorder the Escape short (actually in checking my records, the Escape II) and thought these were essentially the same. As mentioned before, they squeeze a little more in the brief and the waistband is thicker (and seems to ride lower - not good for working out). Unfortunately have to return all 3 I ordered from the Outlet. 1- Please bring back the Escape retaining the same volume in the rise for both the brief and outer liner. 2 -Consider also making it in a 6" inseam (or possibly 5") so there is leg drag on the thigh when running when its wet or humid weather when sweat collects down the leg. Do not even think about making them without the same side pockets!!!! Please. The side pockets are critical- won't by a short without them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by IamMarc from Like stiff skinny jeans Pros: - Exactly what is advertised: "Ultra-lightweight, breathable but still extremely durable fabric" Cons: - If I knew "extremely durable fabric" meant that the shorts would not stretch or move properly at all, I wouldn't have bought them. Despite being running shorts, these are only good for a light jog: try anything full stride and the shorts won't ride up your leg; they'll grip and pull. The closest thing I can compare it to is like trying to run in really tight skinny jeans except they're shorts. Bottom Line: - If you plan on bending a knee or lifting a leg at any point to a 90 degree angle, these shorts are not for that. I'm a huge fan of everything UA but they can't seem to get shorts right. This will be the third pair of UA shorts I've bought that don't fit well at all.

Rated 1 out of 5 by DomB5450 from Terrible These short's look great but they don't stretch in the thighs AT ALL. I was very disappointed because I really do love UA and have other shorts from them but these are terrible, I can't squat without them digging into my thighs and feeling like they're going to bust open. Everything else fits perfect by the way, so I doubt it is a sizing issue. You can tell this material is just not made to stretch like almost all of their other shorts material.

Rated 4 out of 5 by SidneyCrosby from Good running short I bought these to wear to the gym to workout in. This is running short, not so much a workout short, but it still functions fine for working out. This short is super light weight. It honestly feels like a swimming short, especially since it has an internal lining. It has a small internal pocket for a locker key which i like, and it has running pockets. These are pretty shallow, so don't expect to put much in them. I'm 5'7" and the shorts run just above the knee for me. I personally would prefer a shorter short, but UA doesn't make anything shorter than a 7" seem short. btw. I wear size 32 for my jeans and a medium fits well! Overall, i'm pretty happy with them. It would be nice if they made these in another material. But, for a running short it's super lightweight and makes my warmup on the treadmill a breeze.

Rated 2 out of 5 by NYCTEACHER from Too tight in the hips Love the material of the shorts because it doesn't absorb sweat, but the size wasn't great for me; too tight in the hips made the shorts ride up on my legs. Fortunately, UA has great customer service and I was able to exchange them.
