Wearing mine for yearsI bouth my second pair of desert boots in 2014 and still wear them. The sole on mine seem to be some crepe material - a few posts down you'll see someone who posted photos of a cracked sole where the material does not look like crepe or the material used on mine at all. Again, mine last now for almost 6 years! Sure the sole had been worn so as much that they became slippery in rain but I roughed them up and now they are as great as ever. However, the time I need to replace them will come and I have a simple question for Clarks customer service team - have you changed the material of the sole since 2014? Because from the photos posted below the material looks absolutely different and much more artificial compared to mine. Also there is no way that mine could break - the material is not like plastic but some natural feeling crepe. I suppose this changed?

Would buy indefinitely if the soles actually heldI bought these ~18 months ago and absolutely love them! They are THE only shoes I pack for weeks at a time on the road. No issues with the laces for me and the leather patina is absolutely gorgeous at this point. Except after 18 months of semi-often use in office environments, the left heel came completely off one morning in the rental car. I could walk around limping all day or take the chance and rip off the right heel as well. This has since worked reasonably well - I bought inserts to cushion - but my goodness... not exactly Red Wing longevity or Sperry craftmanship eh?
I would literally pay to have these resoled again because of the comfort & the patina - but no one will resole a crepe sole so... I just cant recommend these boots to people unless they want to part with ~$10 a month for a rental pair of shoes that won't hold up.
Read the reviews! I consider myself lucky I haven't developed holes in the remaining soles and have only had to rip a heel off and buy new inserts. I'm disappointed they havent figured this out yet...

Love these BootsI have been buying these pair of Clarks for the last 7 years. They last me around 2 years and I wear them about every day I wear jeans. I would recommend them to anyone who wants a nice pair of boots that age well

They look great but feel really uncomfortable.I bought these with high hopes. I remember Clarks from back in the day. I currently have a pair of desert tan suede chukkas from a competitor and like them a lot. That pair is soft, close-fitting and had good cushioning above the crepe soles. I could wear them all day. So I bought these beeswax boots from Clark because they were on sale and in a color I needed. Ouch, are they different. The leather looked gorgeous out of the box, but they scuffed and wrinkled almost immediately. The leather itself is really stiff, so much that half the day you feel the upper edges rub against your ankles. The "kicker," though, is that these boot bottoms are essentially flat, with no insole support or cushioning at all. Every step on floors or concrete is transmitted directly through your feet up your legs. They are uncomfortable while standing, while walking and while sitting down. Sadly, these Clarks have no redeeming value whatsoever. Don't buy them unless you already have flat feet.

Look great and super comfortable, poor solesLove these boots, they look good and are super comfortable, this is my 3rd pair. The top sides of the boots are well made and resilient. I have been disappointed again with the life and durability of the soles and insoles. The soles are paper thin in the ball of my foot and the insole is coming apart again. The insole seems to made out of a chipboard type material. It's a shame to toss out boots with good strong leather topsides but worn out soles again.

Sole wore out too quicklyI bought this boot as a daily dress shoe. I work in an office setting and it doesn't see any extra wear and tear outside of that. I have had them for maybe six months and they've already begun to wear through on the soles. I've bought Clarks in the past and have not had them worn out this quickly. I assume they've cut costs on manufacturing while raising the prices.
