What’s with the new sizing?
I’ve been a Permit II wearer for years and love them. They are my daily short for spring, summer and fall. Decided to order a couple pairs of Permit III’s to replace some of my old Permit IIs. I can live with the thinner material, even the shallow pockets but I can’t handle the sizing. I’m a slim athletic male and the Permit II in a size Small (30W) fit great. The sizing on the Permit III Small is huge! In fact, the website suggests that you order one size lower, but do not offer an Extra Small for us previous Permit II wearers. Unfortunately, they have alienated all previous Permit II size Small customers.
Bring back the Permit II or at least offer an Extra Small on the Permit III.

Please bring back Permit II style
The front pockets in these shorts are too shallow. My husband loved the Permit II shorts and had one in every color. It was time for a new black pair, so I bought these ones. This new style will unfortunately be returned. Please bring back the Permit II style!

Columbia Quality No More
Recently purchased 2 pairs of these in the Fossil color. I've worn the Permit II shorts for years as my favorite shorts Columbia made. These are a drastic downgrade from the Permit IIs. The material is incredibly thin, which is nice for keeping cool, but any underwear with a pattern or not a light color will show through. The real icing on the cake is when I went to put a pair on this weekend, both the back pockets were ripped on the inside netting with holes big enough for a wallet to fall through. Checked the other pair and saw the same issue on one of the pockets there. I've always bought Columbia products as an affordable, quality alternative to other pricier outdoor brands, but these seem to be contrary.

They Ruined the Best Shorts in their Lineup
Ordered Permit III because I liked the Permit II shorts so much.
Pockets are useless. Can’t hold a phone, wallet, or really anything.
Basically a useless item now. Will return these and never buy again

The front pockets on these shorts are so shallow they are pretty much useless. Tried them on when I got them and noticed the front pockets were so shallow that I wouldn’t be carrying anything of value in them. I don’t recommend purchasing these shorts.
