Artisan Toaster CPT2400 is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 43.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice toaster This toaster works well. Both sides of bread are toasted about the same. After reading several reviews on other products, I ran the toaster empty for two cycles to clear any oils left from manufacturing before using the first time. The toaster does get hot on the outside above the lever to lower the toast, and the darkness setting is very easily moved, so must be checked prior to lowering the bread each time. Otherwise it does toast well and slots are big enough for sourdough bread that we love. The instructions caution you to unplug the toaster after each use, so I have been doing that, even though I did not do that with our previous toaster.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from We like our new toaster First the toaster is very pretty. The toaster has a cord that allows you to wrap around the bottom so you have an opportunity to direct the cord and shorten the cord. The sides are fairly cool, I have put my toaster on a shelf inside a small corner pantry my contractor built for me. I leave the toaster plugged in sitting on the shelf. I have an old refrigerator dish with my butter in it sitting on the left of the toaster and I never have burned myself getting out. I also bake a lot of bread, some in loaves, some in rounds and all the different shapes fit into the slots. Of course it will also toast 4 slices of regular bread which is a plus with a family. Thick slices of banana nut bread will fit in the slots to warm and crisp up a bit, same with cinnamon raisin bread. I shopped many hours for this toaster and I am very satisfied. Of course I can't tell you how long it lasts because I have not had it long. Oh, it has a handy tray that pulls out from the back of the toaster to clean out the crumbs. I guess it would have been a better functional design element to have had the crumb tray be removed from the front. To tell you the truth I almost did not purchase it because of this rear removal feature. Yes, I would buy it again. I like the button that allows you to reheat, just incase that bacon or eggs needs immediate attention.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor quality and shoddy construction. I received delivery of this toaster on December 5th and by January 15th, after only three or four uses, the Defrost button is stuck in Defrost mode. The other buttons, except for the Stop button, don't work at all! It burns everything I try to toast and sparks when the lever is pushed. I like the look of the toaster, but the workmanship is poor - almost like it's constructed of aluminum foil. Extremely disappointing for a Cuisinart product which was so highly rated.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Disappointing! I received this as a gift. It was larger than I really wanted but it was attractive and so I decided to keep it. The lowering mechanism was finicky and the toast color was uneven and it gave off far more heat than my previous toaster. I had put an English muffin in the toaster and left the room to answer the phone. I figured that I would simply re-heat the muffin if it turned out to be a long call: What happened instead was that the muffin apparently never came up and instead disintegrated/burned up filling my kitchen with smoke and scorching the wall and other surfaces. While Cuisinart agreed to replace the unsatisfactory toaster they told me that it was my fault since the directions stated that a toaster should never be left unattended. Really? I decided to accept a credit instead and am very happy with my new non Cuisinart toaster that does not need me to babysit it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It toasts fine but.......... I am a little disappointed. You have to push the lever down real hard or it won't stay down. In addition, after toasting, the top of the toaster is real hot and if you need to lift the lever up to grab the toast more easily, it real easy to burn you fingers if you touch the top of the toaster to get more leverage. It does toast fine tho.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Choose something else I bought this about a month ago after doing a fair amount of research. Unfortunately, I am not thrilled with my selection. Simple actions like pushing down the toast lever do not work well. It takes too much force to make it stay down. Also, it toasts dark on the lightest settings. The body of the toaster also gets hot while in use.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Value I have had lots of toasters in the past and a few toaster ovens. I love this toaster because you can put many sizes of bread in it and it toasts evenly. It would have a 5 star if the dial at would stay where I want it. I just check it before I push down the toast button and that solves the problem. It also looks great in the kitchen!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from beautiful to look at It is nice to be able to toast long slices of bread. Unfortunately, it does not toast both sides at the same time. My husband complains almost every day about this weakness in the toaster. He finds it very annoying. This seems to be a problem with most toasters today (according to complaints of some friends).
