Smart Stick? 2-Speed Hand Blender CSB79 is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 57.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Super handy and versatile Love having this in the house. Great for chopping veggies for dinner, making smoothies for breakfast, and mixing for baking. So convenient to be able to throw the pieces in the dishwasher and go. My only complaint (and I read about before hand and didn't realize exactly how big of a pain it would be) is that you pretty much need two hands to use it due to the locations of the unlock and start buttons. You have to use two hands all the time to use the blender. Even though that is a giant pain to me, I still think the rest of the blender is awesome. Everything comes out smoothly, which hasn't been true in the past of other hand-held blenders.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Don't like the safety button I was given this as a Christmas gift and wish I had gotten a model before the safety button was added, as it is a real pain and very uncomfortable. In my opionion, with this safety button you need three hands to operate this thing; one to hold the safety button, one for the run button, and another to hold the vessel you are blending in. I wanted this for blending soups in the pan; in that case the vessel is heavy enough, it doesn't get away from you. I had to learn to just leave the blender stationary in the pot (not to try to move it around as you would with a hand mixer). All that said, it does a decent job of blending and seems well made.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not good to use as a blender We put this on our wedding registry, and were very excited when we received it however, we quickly realized that it does a terrible job as a blender! Even in the low setting it sends things flying everywhere, not to mention that it's a pain in the rear to start since you have to hold it, and push the lock and speed button at the same time in order for it to start!! Not convenient at all! The chopper is decent but we mainly wanted this because it was an easy way to whip some scramble eggs, or a small portion of batter, yet neither of those are doable! We would have returned it if we would have kept the box.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointment I really liked this set when I first bought it and used it frequently. However, there was one thing I disliked immediately. It is very awkward to hold the power stick and simultaneously hold down the button that keeps it going. It made my hand ache and I lost my hold on the button repeatedly. Then the plastic gears stripped. That made everything unusable. I returned it. I know I am not the only consumer who has detailed these flaws. I wish Cuisinart would redesign this to fix the shortcomings as the set is actually a good idea.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Immersion Blender I bought this for making several recipes in the Instant Pot. I love the chopper that came with it, and didn't even realize how useful it would be. I would definitely recommend this blender and chopper.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can't live without! I love the immersion blender, chopper combo. I make, salad, dressing, with first chopping, herbs, onions, spices, and then add to mixing chamberbwith vinegar, oil, etc,for an emulsified vinaigrette. I make all my salad dressings. Also handy for soups. It is great, for quick chopping when you don't want to pull out the food processor. Love it and do not know how I lived without it! Friends who have seen it in action, report they had to buy one too. Great value, great function for small jobs. Buy one, you won't regret it!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Handy gadget I love this smart stick EXCEPT FOR THE TWO BUTTON START BUTTONS! I had another one for approx 15 yrs and I loved it but when I got this new one, found it is VERY difficult to use because you have to constantly keep two fingers on the start buttons. OVERKILL on that safety feature as far as I’m concerned. I gave my old one away when I got the new one so I can’t throw this one out. I will continue to try to use it but has taken a lot of fun and convenience out of food preparation.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This is my go to for cream soups. I bought this about a month and a half ago, and haven't used all the attachments yet. I really just wanted the Speed Stick for soups. I had looked a long time for one, and this seemed to be the most like the one I had had and loved previously. I find it a little hard to begin to use, because two buttons must be pressed simultaneously to get it to start. I see why this is, for safety reasons, but I find it difficult. Perhaps I'll get used to it after a while. I hope so.
