Rated 1 out of 5 by from Really Hard to Operate I've been a Cuisineart kitchen appliance customer for decades: food processors and coffee makers. This two-speed stick blender is the first complete "DUD" I've ever bought from Cuisinart, and I'm beyond disappointed. I want to cry. First: The buttons are inset so far from the surface and so hard to push that it takes TWO HANDS to hold them in. Second: the little button on top that's supposed to lock the On/OFF buttons m into the "on" position pops out constantly every 30 secs and the whole performance of trying to get the On buttons pushed again (with two hands) begins all over. I HATE THIS PRODUCT! I'd rather have my old Braun back.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not necessarily good We bought this new model to replCe our older one as the stock blDe began to malfunction— it was with us a long tim-/ so that is the reason it was so easy to select the same trusted brand. Our surprise and complaintis a “new” design feature of two speeds and a pesky third button on top you must hind down for the blade to run. You can let go once the blade is spinning, but it is very uncomfortable— definitely a two handed job. Also— the second speed appears useless for us s the normal one speed was great for all our uses. They messed with a good thing. We are wishing for our old one speed and NO rip button to hold down.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So glad I finally bought one of these. making soup and moving the hot liquid to a blender of food processor was getting really old for me. This tool makes it so much easier and now my husband and I enjoy pureed soups much more often. Am using this for gravies as well. When my daughter was visiting for a few weeks this winter, she jumped at the opportunity to make her baby's pureed food with this. It will be her birthday present this year. One thing to note (that I was disappointed in) is that you must hold the top button down and the front high/low button at the same time all throughout operation. I still have not found this to be easy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Design of blender part I've had the blender for a while. The one I had previously (different brane) still worked but was unappealing in the way iit looked after use. There was no way to clean the sealed blender part; food would get in there - and stay. The Cuisinart blending portion has no enclosed parts so it rinses/washes clean very easily. I give it only 4 stars because it is awkward to hold the button on top to turn it on, while at the same time pressing/holding the side low or high speed button. I think there is a way to mitigate this, but I have not used it often enough to learn/remember how, and have't had time to peruse the instruction manual to learn and remember what to do. I like the sleek shiny style of the blender.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Blender with One Reservation This is a good looking blender with plenty of power to deal with raw vegetables going into a smoothie. It cleans easily but naturally, care with the very sharp blades is needed. My principal reservation centers on the safety button that must be depressed at the time the blender is switched on. Now a safety lock is a great idea because stick blenders improperly handled were well known to emergency rooms and hand surgeons. But I find the control arrangement awkward, requiring one hand to hold the blender handle and depress the "on" switch and the second to press down the safety button to start the blender. The "on" switch requires a fair bit of pressure to keep depressed. Overall, I like the blender for the job it does with food.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great replacement This blender was bought to replace a Braun hand blender which expired after 17 years. It seems to be even more powerful than my countertop blender. Its primary job is to mix drinks, I have also used it to make coconut milk. It works very well, the need to press a button in the handle before it can start is a bit odd though. The only regret I have is that a new one was launched last month about 2 months after buying mine. The new one has a 300 watt motor and a 3 cup working cup. Apart from that everything is fine

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Handy but Clumsy I use this smart stick more often than I thought I would. However, in order to activate the motor you have to hold down - hard! - both buttons simultaneously (one on top and one on the front so you can't reach both with one finger). Since the other hand holds a bowl or glass, manuvering this smart stick is clumsy. --I thought this was a defect, returned it, and discovered the same problem with the replacement. ... But YouTube demo videos don't have that problem. Is there a more expensive version that works better?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good blending, bad grip I'm pleased with the thorough and fast blending from this little wonder, and I love how much easier it is to store and clean than a blender. However, the design requiring you to hold down the lock button on top to keep it blending is really awkward, and my hand frequently slips off the button and I have to start over with the two hand button-unlocking procedure. Keeping the button held down firmly enough to keep it from switching off also hurts my hand and causes fatigue. This mechanism really needs to be redesigned.
