Disappointed
I wish they would return old Dauble W Light. Mixing that with DW stay in place gave good, but not too heavy coverage and oil control for oily acne prone skin. Disappointed

Naturally beautiful skin.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received today's beauty product compliments of Estée Lauder. As someone with combination skin with residual dryness from a long history of acne treatments, foundation has seldom been my friend. I would dread applying foundation only to find it caking, drying, and cracking along with my dry skin. Jumping into this product sample, I figured I had nothing to lose. I opted to try shade 1N2 as that appeared to match the closest to my skin tone, albeit a little on the cool side for my peachy undertone skin. I am new to the world of sheer makeup, and quite frankly, I love it! It was so refreshing to open my little packet and find that the product was more lightweight and fluid in texture than initially expected. Though the product is fragrance-free, I enjoyed the natural scent of the formula. Actually, I thought it smelled eloquently beautiful. I was very much enthused by the clean, powdery, and delicate scent of this foundation. As expected, the shade was not a perfect match - I probably could benefit from a slightly peachier shade. That being said, the product blended smoothly onto my skin with ease - even over my problem areas! The coverage is sheer, and yet I found it to adequately diffuse my blemishes, while still allowing the real me to shine through. Like a gorgeous, beautifying veil to your naturally beautiful skin. Oh, and it applies completely matte, creating the illusion of bare skin with a diffused, delicately softening glow. I would love to further investigate and really find my true shade. If I'm able to find an exact match to my unique undertone, I'll have to upgrade this review to a 5 star rating. With its ease of use and undetectable qualities, I might actually start using foundation again for the first time in years. I think I love this foundation because it doesn't look like foundation. It just looks like you!

Would not buy again
I have always used the regular double wear and decided to try the sheer double wear. I knew it would be less coverage. However, the foundation is almost like dyed water. No coverage at all.

Disappointed in New Formula
I have been wearing double wear light for years. It was discontinued so I had to try the new product. Very disappointed as no comparison. Application is difficult as formula is like a stain and not a foundation. It streaks and doesn't give even coverage. Hope that the old product will be brought back.

Nice sheer alternative
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a nice alternative to the Double Wear stay-in-place foundation. I prefer a sheer coverage, as it allows my skin to breathe and isn't as matte. No issues with settling into lines and was still long-wearing.

Horrible foundation
I will start by saying I love Estée Lauder products in general and have being using Lauder makeup , skin care, fragrances and foundations for decades. This Double Wear Sheer long wearing makeup is one of the worst foundations I have used. For over $70 CAD I was expecting much much better. For starters this has zero coverage, not sheer coverage, but literally no coverage at all. Not a matte finish as advertised, nor does it keep oil in check. It got shiny and settled into every pore after a couple of hours. Very disappointing product and do not recommend.
