Rated 3 out of 5 by Paul from Not sure that I would purchase again. The actual boot looks just like the photo. But trying it on, I got a different impression. First impression is that the leather on the upper and the sole is soooo very thin. The size seems to be running a bit small, but maybe that will stretch out and be better after they get broken in. And, finally, the finish that they put on the sole is so slippery that when I first put them on and walked across the carpet, it felt like I was walking on ice. The bottoms of the soles look very pretty, but I really do not want to fall on my can before they get scuffed up and start to be less slippery. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by Bagger Jake from One Thin Soul My only comment is that the soles on your Duke shoe style are way too thin. This makes them stylish, I suppose, but they wear out much too quickly and they are very susceptible to water. Get caught in rain or snow wearing your Dukes, and you better get ready to replace them soon. If you folks were to put a decent sole (even a Rubber sole) on this shoe, you would be creating an unbeatable value! BTW, I buy Dukes for their high-heeled design, because those heels promote a posture that takes a great deal of pressure off one of my 68-year old knees. As your demographics will no doubt confirm, I am only one of many who would benefit from similarly designed shoes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Westerner in D.C. from The solution for a dress western boot Having grown up in the West I have worn western boots day in, day out for the last 40 plus years. For dress and business formal occassions I revert to my "Dukes". They let me stay with my western roots while meeting dress requirements. Go great with boot cut jeans as well. Keep making 'em!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jim from Great product and great service I have been wearing the Duke style boot for close to forty years! I wore them all throughout my professional career in the business world and have always been very satisfied with their appearance and durability. My daughter is getting married this October so I recently bought a pair of boots online. Over the years, my foot must have become wider as the pair that I ordered initially did not fit. I returned them using the mailing label that was enclosed and within about a week I had received another pair which was exactly the right size and fit perfectly. I am very happy with the new boots and with the service that was provided by Florsheim.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ONE ZERO from DUKE BOOTS, BLACK AND BROWN. CLASSY AND LIGHT, GOOD LEATHER, HOLDS A GREAT SHINE. THIN SOLE STAY OUT OF THE PAIN AND PUDDLES. GOOD FOR WEARING WITH SUITS OR JEANS OR SLACK PANTS. I HAVE BEEN WEARING THE BOOTS ON AND OFF SINCE THE 1970'S SQUARE TOES. I BOUGHT MY 23 YEAR OLD SON BLACK AND BROWN PAIR. TWO OF HIS FRIENDS ALSO WEAR THE BOOTS NOW. OLD GEEZERS AREN'T SUPPOSED TO BE COOL, BUT IT'S FUNNY THREE OF THE YOUNG MEN HAVE COPIED ME. (I'M 71 YEARS OLD.). JH.

Rated 5 out of 5 by YPT from My husband loves them! My husband needed a new pair of boots and for years he's been buying the cheepo brands, which didn't last any amount of time at all. I kept telling him to look at Florsheim as it was the brand my dad swore by. I finally surprised him with these boots for his birthday 3 days ago and he loved them. They were comfortable right out of the box. They can be worn with jeans, for work or special occasions as they have a slight shine to them as opposed to a matte finish. I bought him a size wider than he normally wears only because these looked a bit tapered in style as opposed to square and boxy and he said they fit perfectly. I think he'll be buying Florsheim from now on!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Frank from the duke is the only leather shoe I wear The duke is the only shoe that I wear (except for canvas boat shoes at the gym and during the summer) for the last over 30 years... I can run, walk, or stand all day and dance all night in them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by just_some_guy from Strangers say "nice boots!" Been wearing the black ones for years. When brand new, they look so good, people seemed to be moved to say "nice boots!", even strangers when I'm walking down the street. Good size heel boosts my 5'8'' height nicely as well. The sole wears down pretty quickly, especially if you walk a lot on city sidewalks. And the finish on top might start to "peel" a bit if you scuff the top toe area. Then they don't look as great anymore, but a quick polish helps. They're not super-expensive, so I get a new pair every year (some years I've bought two pairs) and wear them late spring, summer, into the fall. Not the winter, they're not rugged enough for cold weather and snow. Looks good with just about everything. Can wear them at work, can wear them with jeans. I hope Florsheim never stops making Duke boots.
