Rated 5 out of 5 by Geetarman from Classy and vintage-cool I love this Grant watch that my wife got for me! It's sized nicely, it's easy to read, and it's comfortable on the wrist! I have small wrists and this case size is still just right. The leather band is flexible and seems pretty sturdy. I like the unique use of the IIII instead of IV on the display; to me, it actually balances the whole dial display. This watch will work well whether you dress up or dress down. And it's got a timeless, classic, sophisticated, and flat-out beautiful appearance! I just love it. This is my first Fossil watch, though my wife has several and has always loved them. I look forward to many years of enjoyment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by EntieJohannsonn from Great Watch Received this watch as an anniversary gift from my employer. Love the look of it, received several compliments on it the first day I wore it. I have seen many reviews commenting on the numerals being incorrect. The 4 and the 9. One person stated that the 4 (IIII) is a more historically classic version rather than IV, which I like. Several have commented that the 9 suggesting that it is showing IV rather that IX. If you look very closely, you can see that it was originally printed as IX but the cutout for the date dial cuts off the bottom half of the X. and besides that, you know where the 9 is....

Rated 5 out of 5 by Timepiece999 from Classic looking watch As to the Roman Numeral issue, the 4 (IIII instead of IV) holds historical backing as the a standard form of usage for the number 4. Reference: http://blog.fossil.com/the-story-of-iiii-not-iv/ Also, the 9 is actually correct. It is just cut off. It is definitely IX but the style of the watch cuts it in half making it appear as a IV. You can tell it is an IX and not an VI because all the V's on the watch point from the parameter of the watch while the X is open on the top.

Rated 5 out of 5 by jhatfossil from Great Watch I bought this watch for myself as a Fossil employee and I love it. Get compliments on it all the time. I do want to say that the roman numerals are correct. The IX is cut off by the chronograph dial so you can't see the bottom of the X but if you look closely it is an X, not a V (a V would be cut off above the intersection of the lines, not below). Also IIII is commonly used in clocks and watch faces rather than IV. There is a wikipedia entry about it... search for 'IIII vs. IV on clocks' and you should find it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JamesHank from Wonderful watch I bought this watch quite some time ago (can't remember when exactly). Since then it is yet to fail me. I've had countless compliments on it as well. Pros: Nice stop watch feature "24 hour" hand Easy-to-interchange band (just 2 releases and the band is off without any tools) Cons: While the 4 on the dial is a traditional clock Roman numeral (IIII instead of IV) I haven't found any evidence in my research that supports using IV for 9 instead of IX. To be honest I believe it just may have been a mistake. Nonetheless it's a beautiful watch and I didn't even notice the incorrect 9 until it was pointed out to me by these comments. You get a great watch for a reasonable price. Definitely worth purchasing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by CTKJ from Classic Time Piece Received this watch as a Christmas gift last month. Very clean looking watch. Just have to get the band broken in and it will be perfect. As for the people complaining about the Roman Numerals being wrong. Yes, the 4 should be IV and not IIII, but this does not bother me. And if you look close enough, the watch designer was going to finish the IX at the 9 o' clock hour but the chrono feature gets in the way so it kind of looks like a IV. I haven't figured out how to use the chrono feature at the 3 and 9 o'clock hour though. Over all very happy with this watch.

Rated 4 out of 5 by watchbard from No problems It is hard to buy a watch! That's the conclusion I've come to after getting advice from every corner. I spent days on the internet reading fashion magazine reviews of watches and "how-to's" and it just got more and more difficult. I came across the Fossil website accidently but I was attracted to their watches and after a day or two of going back and forth decided on the Grant Chronograph. It wears well, looks good, makes me feel decent about wearing a watch again and, above all else, keeps perfect time. The roman numerals are attractive! The band was a tight fit but that's about the only "complaint." I always look forward to putting it on in the morning.

Rated 3 out of 5 by mrsteve from looks good but.... I just bought this watch and I love the look of it but, the roman numerals are incorrect. The number 4 should be iv. The number 9 should be ix.
