Rated 5 out of 5 by izzie from Comfortable, beautiful, strong I already knew Frye's would be the best quality boot out there, and these did not disappoint. I wear a 9.5 in Frye and 10 in most other shoes, and ordered my usual size. I've been struggling to find boots with narrow enough calves, and these are narrow with a slight gap that looks more fashionable with the pull on style than oversized. It gives the boots a slight western look without being a full on cowboy boot. I like the height - I am 5'9" and the boot is about an inch and a half from my knee. I am wearing them currently for the first day outside the house, and they were expectedly stiff for the first half hour, then they just molded and started feeling like I've owned them for years. My favorite part is the color - it is a deep, rich, red-brown. Not too red like a burgundy (the boots also come in a wine color for that) and not a dull dress shoe brown. Their color is so their own that it goes with everything - I literally held a boot against items in my wardrobe to see! Blues and navys, florals, blacks and greys, white, cream, olive... solids, patterns... it went with everything. I have two other pairs of Frye boots 5 and 3 years old, and they look like they did the day I bought them, if not better. I expect nothing less of these with the leather quality and leather soles. I could smell the leather smell in my car driving to work! I recommend these boots as a lifelong investment in a wardrobe staple.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JulCal from Beautiful in Brown I have these in an 8.5, brown, and they are absolutely gorgeous. I wear an 8.5 M and they fit as my other Frye 8.5 boots and shoes fit. I am between sizes so I also tried the 8, however, it was too tight on my foot so I sized up. The width is perfect for an average calf (13.75 in my case). The straight leg jeans I had on went right into the boot with room to spare. If anything, the opening might be a bit large; I had on the regular ones, not wide calf. I liked the black too, but the colors in the brown were too gorgeous to pass up. The only thing that worries me is they are slippery on carpet, but are ok on tile, hard wood, etc. I usually buy Fryes with the lug heel for traction.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Klfh88 from Beautiful, but not as wide as I hoped These boots are beautiful and high quality, as expected from Frye! I was so glad to see them offered in wide calf. However, the calf really isn't as wide as I had hoped it would be. So far, I've only been able to pull them up over socks - not jeans. The foot is also more narrow than I had hoped, but has plenty of length. I'm keeping them in hopes that the calf will stretch out enough for me to get them more easily over some skinny jeans, and in the meantime I'm wearing them around the house without tucking my pants into them.

Rated 2 out of 5 by SweetPeaQT from Do Not Care For The New Melissas Purchased these with a gift card I got. I don’t care for them at all! They are waaay harder to pull on than he original Melissa boots. I have a pair of the old Melissas and they were difficult to get on but they broke in after a couple of wears. These new ones are a much stiffer leather; not soft like the old. Narrower tie box on the new ones too. And I don’t care for the one Button look. It looks out of place.
