Great Workout Watch!
I am really enjoying the ease of which the Venu allows me to do sets on the watch. I love the larger screen display. The only drawback I've found is it doesn't maintain connectivity with the iPhone 12.

Just Right
I had an older Vivioactive that wasn’t giving me the data I wanted. This new Venu SQ has been a very good tool for my health. I do wish it had an altimeter to track floors but everything else is great.

Ok if you can't afford to pay more
Overall this is a disappointment. The design looks good and the display screen is easy to read. However operation is very difficult, as the buttons aren't very sensitive. Pushing the button frequently gets no response from the unit at all. Other times, pressing the button brings up the incorrect function. It takes quite a bit of pressing over and over until the correct function randomly appears.
A most frustrating aspect is that when I have started an activity, such as Walking, I get the message "Waiting for GPS". It can take up to 15 minutes for the connection, so there I am, ready to go, but must wait. If you don't wait for the GPS, you'll miss the green arrow you need to tap to start.
Finally, the instructions are terrible. The Quick Start Guide that comes with the piece is actually incorrect, and refers to the user to the online manual for further information. The manual is also incorrect. I am referring again to the buttons, and which buttons to push, for which duration, to get the desired result. In frustration, I must google "How do I make my Venu Sq do...", and other users have posted helpful instructions.
I tried the Garmin as I had become frustrated with Fitbit, after trying several over the last several years, including their top of the line. Family members had switched to Garmin, and are very happy. Unfortunately for me, they are able to afford the top of the line Garmins, and I needed to buy the budget-friendly model.
Ultimately, the Venu Sq is about as good as a Fitbit, and is fine if this is all you can afford. Otherwise, definitely spend some money and get a higher end Garmin.
