Rated 5 out of 5 by RB-Hawaii from Awesome Boots Besides taking over a week and a half to get it mail order from Cali to Hawaii, the boots are great. I love Hi-Tec boots and this particular model isn't available locally. There was a model similar to it but when I wore it (I'm 10.5) at Sports Authority, felt tight. so I ordered these a half size up and I was spot-on on the size. You need to order these boots a half size bigger than your feet! Especially if you wear thick hiking socks like I do. Tried them on, walked around a little and it felt real good and comfy. The design is great, waterproof is a plus, and the outsoles are super. I love what I ordered!

Rated 4 out of 5 by dart from Good, Except! I have been a satisfied Hi-Tec hiking boot customer for over 40 years. On this pair I notice that the laces do not slide easily through the metal triangles on the sides of the boot. This makes it difficult to tighten when lacing and even more difficult to loosen when taking them off. I think the lace gets "bound/pinched" in the angle of the triangle. I would suggest you change that triangle shape to a D-ring shape with circular side of the D facing the middle of the tongue. This would allow the lace to move freely. It should also extend the life of the lace by not "pinching" it at one stress point. And definitely order the widest one because they run a little narrow.

Rated 5 out of 5 by AnTx from Just replaced a pair I had for 10 years. Hi-Tec has been making this same shoe for ages. Old pair was purchased in or around 2005. Wore holes in the soles and was getting wet socks during rain events. I was surprised to see these were still production. The uppers on the old ones are still in perfect shape except for a small cut which was not a manufacturing defect. Hope the new pair holds up as well as the retired pair did.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Bhaugen from Comfort? Yes. Waterproof? Not even a little. I've been wearing these boots pretty regularly for about two months. The comfort level is quite high; especially right out of the box, there was really no break in period. The materials seem strong, I've seen no wear to speak of. The laces are not good. Or at least they are not good for this boot. They shred where they contact the upper hook very quickly. My biggest complaint, and the reason I am on this web-site, is the waterproofing. I went hunting down an old road. This road was not overgrown and there was very little grass. It was raining. It took less than an hour for my feet to be COMPLETELY soaked. Now, I wasn't expecting to have dry feet after walking through a creek, or trudging through knee high grass all day, but I've had old tennis shoes with better waterproofing than this. Very disappointing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Colleen from Survived the John Muir Trail! I love this boot! I am female, and bought this style to give myself more toe room. I was planning to hike the John Muir Trail, and tried several boot options from REI. I found them all to be hideously uncomfortable, and ended up wearing my Hi-Tecs for the entire, 200+ miles of the JMT. They were comfortable, stayed dry during rain and water crossings, and I never got a single blister.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Bo Bogard from Best footwear I have ever owned let me say I'm on my feet a lot during the day and I walk & climb a lot of miles each week. I also have bad feet that hurt (medical reasons). this is a FYI, I found these Hiking Boots, Hi-Tech Banderas. straight out of the box they have been the most comfortable I have had the pleasure of wearing. and they have held up EXTREMELY well for the rough service I put them through ( I install appliances for a major DYI box store ). just bought my second pair.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Baggins from Good Boots, Poor Laces I've had these boots for about seven months now. They had very limited use this past summer because I live at the beach, but I have worn them more since the weather changed. Still they are not worn regularly. The boots are comfortable and seem to be holding up well. The boots still appear to be nearly new, but I have to replace the laces already. Anyone tried to buy laces that look anything like the originals lately? Why doesn't Hi-Tec sell the laces, or did I miss them on the site?
