Rated 5 out of 5 by Shasta from I Love this attachment it is the best! I own almost every attachment and 3 Stand mixers, and this is by far my favorite! Let me tell you why... I get large amount of bulk veggies and they need to be processed for later use. this would be a nightmare if I had to do this all by hand. What I do is place a ziplock bag in a bowl and let the veggies fall right into the bag. zip it up and freeze it done. I do onions, Bell pepper, celery, cheese, anything that I will need for later soups and stock starters. I take my pasta roller and roll out pizza dough for home made hot pockets. I use my mixers for everything. but this is my favorite attachment (pasta roller a close second)

Rated 1 out of 5 by MaxedMac from Great Idea, Poor execution. Great Idea and actually a good design but it does not perform as well as I expected. The dial on the side to adjust thickness is a great feature. This does work, however it requires taking it apart and clearing out the disk for the dicer after every vegetable (I tried with onions, bell peppers, and jalapeños) the dicer gets clogged with the skins. I only used the dicing blade. I like the way it will just drop your results into a bowl of your choice as this makes it easier to do large quantities, but constantly having to take the top off, clean the dicing disk, etc. just proved too much work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Blessed Mom of 3 from Cut Thanksgiving Prep Time Drastically Just bought this and it arrived in time to use for Thanksgiving. I used the fine shredding blade for crumbing cornbread for dressing and the dicing blade for my celery and onions. I usually use a blender to crumb my bread and have to blend small amounts and dump, but with this attachment, I was crumbing the bread as fast as I could get it in the feed tube. It seriously took longer to wash the veggies than it did to dice them. I the dicing blade was perfect for this use, but I think I might like to have a dicing blade that would make larger pieces for other uses. Can't wait to try the other disks after Thanksgiving. I would like it if the storage case would hold the entire attachment instead of only the blades. The dicing blade is a little hard to clean, but that happens with any dicing blade.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Chris from Food Slicer Only Please change the name of this from food processor to anything else. This will slice and dice food. This does not puree or finely chop food. Can't make baby food. Can't make hummus. Can't make pesto. Can't make peanut butter. Very disappointed. I had a lot of trust in the Kitchen Aid brand, but now I will need to start looking elsewhere for my small kitchen appliances.

Rated 1 out of 5 by John J. from Not as good as a countertop unit Bought this & spirilizer for my wife. I used it to make sure it would do what she needs.(she is a baker & cook). Sliced potatoes into hash browns to see how it would perform. Was very disappointed. This processor cannot be used for anything liquid either. If you wanted to make a simple gram cracker crust (by pulverizing grams), you could not do it. Unit has good power & I can see usefulness in some areas. It's more of a slicer than a processor. Spirilizer is great.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Dancing Daisy from Decent but not great When requesting this product for my registry, I did not realize that food "processor" did not mean it could blend items like most processors on the market. This one only chops, slices, dices, & juliennes. However, besides this mistake on my behalf, the reason this processor receives poor ratings is because the first time I used it, the blade chopped part of the plastic off the top lid when I was slicing sweet potatoes. Ever since then, parts of the food I cut up gets caught in the top and doesn't go all the way through or gets shredded funny. I would definitely prefer a standard food processor blender on the market over this attachment. I do not recommend.

Rated 1 out of 5 by vanjaslau from Over-priced Chopper First, I am a huge fan of Kitchenaid; however, I am most disappointed in this "food processor." It is nothing more than a chopper. I couldn't even get a zucchini down the tube without cutting it in half. At that point, the results were more chopped than sliced. Food likes to stay between the blade and cover which is wasteful and requires you to undo the whole thing constantly. This is NOT a food processor but more of a chopper/dicer. I will admit that it does dice food well (still leaves a lot between the blade and lid) but it is so hard to clean that dicing with a knife is more time-efficient. You can't rough chop, you can't blend, you can't puree... you can "slice" and dice. I tried to provide my comments to Kitchenaid support but they told me I just had "buyer's remorse." Fairly shocked at that comment when I bought a food processor that is NOT a food processor. Teach me to just trust the brand and name without reviewing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Marge K from This is a great kitchen tool This is a great kitchen tool if you have a load of produce you want to chop, slice, or dice. I purchased a fair amount of onions, peppers, and zucchini and found that this tool was able to get the job done in a much shorter time than I could have done myself. I froze the chopped/diced vegetables in plastic bags to be used at a later time. My only hang up is that it is called a food processor which suggests to me that it will also pulverize food which it does not. If you purchase produce in volume and don't want to cut the vegetables by hand, then this is a great tool and highly recommended. It is a great attachment for my Kitchenaid mixer and works as directed.
