Kosta Boda Crackle Vase Circular Small

Crackle by Åsa Jungnelius for Kosta Boda defies all preconceptions and makes a glassblower's nightmare – cracked glass – its raison d'être. Here it's used to give the object beauty and character. The mold is dug out of clay by hand and the cracked surface is formed using an old traditional technique where the hot glass is dipped in ice cold water. The result is a series of mesmerizing objects whose expression changes depending on perspective and distance, reminiscent of sculptures made of colored or clear ice. First introduced in 2020, and mouth-blown in Kosta, the Crackle series includes three vases and a bowl, in addition to the new mini vase and votive. Crackle Circular won the prestigious international ‘Best of the Best’ – Red Dot Design Award.
