Rated 2 out of 5 by Sarameilan from Not pigmented (African Violet) Ditto the review dated 2/2/18 about African Violet. There is very little color pay-off. I just could not get enough color on my lid, no matter how much I put my brush back into the pan, over and over. Just not enough pigmentation. African Violet did not look violet; more like a muted grey that was slightly purple-ly. It does have nice gold sparkles though. I purchased it on-line because I was looking for a violet for an everyday office look, and so many reviews raved about it. Also, I had a great experience with some other LM shadows, namely Stellar (sateen) and Cashmere (matte), which are terrific and my reliable go-tos. But alas, not African Violet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LB09 from Perfect for day and night! Luster is a good description. I own Celestial, Bamboo, and African Violet. These shadows are not super glittery, but instead have tiny shimmer particles that provide a nice glow to the eyelids, making the shadows office appropriate and beautiful for a candlelit dinner. Not the most pigmented shadow on the market, but that is not necessarily bad: the sheerness allows for foolproof application and a subtle wash of color. Not the glitziest option out there, either, so I wouldn't reach for this on a clubbing night-- still, also not a drawback, because I recognize that Laura doesn't cater to the "going out" night crowd.

Rated 5 out of 5 by brit from Laura Mercier eyeshadows are so finely milled Ever since I was first introduced to LM's eyeshadows, I am so happy! The combination of the Stellar/ Bamboo and Coffee Grounds, which you can play with the amount of smoky eye or neutral eyeshadow look that you desire is fabulous for me for a "neutral eye". Basically, with every color palette that comes out, the eyeshadows are so easy to work with. I like using the eye basics as a primer but I find it is a good to set this with powder as recommended,

Rated 5 out of 5 by wombat111 from Great pigmentations, unique colors Luster if my favorite finish of the LM eyeshadows. Typically a neutral eyeshadow wearer, I couldn't resist Celestial, Sherazade, and African Violet. Sherazade is such a unique color and beautifully blends with neutrals for a pop of color or with other greens and golds for a more dramatic look. I always receive compliments when I wear this shadow and haven't seen the color anywhere else. African Violet is just gorgeous as a wash over the lid with subtle eyeliner and mascara. Celestial is another one I have fun blending with other colors for a more dramatic look.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Sirfreddy123 from Fantastic powder shadow, glides on like a cream I have been using cream shadows because they last well in the very hot sun. I tried this and it stays on just as well. It is easy to apply and layer and wears amazingly well. The African Violet color is perfect with my hazel eyes. Fabulous!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Schinnie from The best eyeshadow in the market! I started using Laura Mercier shadows ever since I fell in love with their Canyon Fall Collection (owned Pine Bronze & Chocolate), . The new colors from Moonlight Collection once again won me over and I bought Pink Pearl and Cream Beige. They are both amazing colors and I especially like Cream Beige. The color is iridescent with great color payoff, giving me a feminine touch perfect for everyday look. I can wear it all day without major fade off or crease. The texture is buttery with easy application. LM really has beautiful eye colors and I'm a customer for life!

Rated 5 out of 5 by refuge from Sophisticated and perfect Topaz is one of my favorite taupe colored shadows. Very complex, and flattering to my eye color. Great staying power too. I like that it's not matte, but it's also not OTT shimmery or glittery. Just complex and beautiful. I have it in the LM eye book with many other shades... they're all excellent. If you don't want to look like a sparkle princess, but you also want some variety beyond just matte colors, check out the luster shades. Fantastic.
