Rated 4 out of 5 by Kat McGib from Wooden Project Workbench The workbench has been a wonderful addition to our 4 year olds playthings. However, three of the small round hubs have been misplaced. Which makes building the models in the booklet impossible. I would purchase an additional construction kit if one contained the small hubs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Mom of 2 from Excellent buy We bought this for our rough and tough nephew that loves to be like his daddy. My husband and I put this together in about half an hour with our two year old crawling all over us and the work bench. It is very sturdy and instructions made it easy to assemble. It came with a lot of pieces to play with. My two year old daughter loved playing with it as we put it together. The wood isn't real cheap and smooth so no splinters. My only complaint is the vice as it is a little difficult to operate but still works.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Carolynn from son loves it the only problem i find with this item is the parts are easily broken. Screws mainly. Though the tools supplied are great i find having my child tighten everything by hand less likely to brake the screws

Rated 2 out of 5 by S. from Wore out quickly! I was so excited about this toy but the vise wore out immediately and the bolts are already stripped (?) so it's been hard for me to even attempt to fix it. How does one go about getting replacement parts?

Rated 3 out of 5 by Dale from Vice was stuck coming out of the box. Melissa and Doug put out great products and we always check with them first before getting toys. We only buy toys that we believe will make it through our children and still be around for their children. I don't want it to sound like we are bashing this workbench because it is awesome and the kids love it. It's just that they would love it even more if the vice was a functioning vice. It looks like it might have been crossthreaded so it wouldn't go in or out and eventually the handle broke from them trying to make it work. Things happen, no big deal. In all fairness I have not contacted the company yet and I'm sure they will make it right. One lesson I did learn? Why not wait until February to put it together, that way they get Christmas like excitement twice! haha BTW we forgot about it being in the back of our Suburban coming back from Grandma's. It was a breeze to put together if you just take your time and follow directions.

Rated 4 out of 5 by CarolAnn Montessori Mom from Very Sturdy My not-yet 3 year old loves building things so we purchased this workbench for him. He hasn't stopped playing with it since he helped assemble it. The workbench itself is very sturdy when assembled. The wrench works great, and the hammer has a very realistic claw. The nuts and bolts work together perfectly. My sole problem: The screwdriver is the wrong size for the bolts. My son can use a real screwdriver, and did while assembling the product, but he gets frustrated with the wooden screwdriver included because it slips in the bolts. The screwdriver is not the full length of the slot in the bolts, but more importantly it isn't the right width either. It moves in both directions while trying to turn it. He became so upset that we just had to "lose" the screwdriver. If this product is revamped in the future, the only change I would make would be to either increase the size of the head on the screwdriver, or make the slot on the bolts narrower so they work together better.
