Rated 2 out of 5 by Weezy from Chip Easily I have had these dishes for 2 years. We are a family of 6 and use them daily. All the pieces are getting little chips in them, and a little chip out of the blue which shows up as white where the blue chips off is really visible. I am really disappointed. I bought a huge amount of these dishes since we have a large extended family and wanted to use them for when large groups of relatives get together but now so many have chips. I don't think we are especially rough on them but you really have to handle them with lots of TLC which is not practical for everyday use with teens. I would not have bought them if I knew they chipped so easily.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Beth from This product chips, scratches and breaks easily Due to Noritake's reputation and my prior experience with it (our fine china is Noritake "Coleman") we chose Noritake for our everyday wear. We have been extremely disappointed with the quality of this Colorwave Blue pattern. It shows scratches and many pieces have chipped. Even a few pieces have broken! Only my husband and I use this dinnerware, so it is not as if children are being careless with it. I am very grateful for the opportunity to be able to express to you my dissatisfaction with the product and would welcome your response. I would hope you would replace the broken and chipped pieces. It would be impossible to replace all the scratched pieces as that would be the entire dinnerware.

Rated 5 out of 5 by SunnyKate from Super strong dinnerware! We put these on our registry and received them over 5 years ago at our wedding. Since then, I have dropped all of the components of these sets from various highs (over 2 feet several times) and in 5 years, I have only broken the handles off of 2 of the mugs. These plates are good looking, scratch-resistant, and perfect for anyone with kids or a penchant for dropping things. I will replace the mugs and any other component since this is such a great product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JudyR from JudyR I use blue colorwave for everyday and have for over a year. I have a porcelain sink that they get bumped on but so far not one piece has chipped. I put them in the dishwasher. No scratches, no marks, they still look brand new. Periodically I add additional pieces like the mini bowls, good for desert, ice cream, etc. I would recommend this pattern without reservation.

Rated 4 out of 5 by LMDishes from Satisfied but... I have a set of 12 in the color wave blue. The other reviewers who complained about the plates not fitting in the dishwasher mirror my own experience. They do not stack well in the dishwasher given their size. They do tip over. However, I have had no problems with them chipping at all. But the coffee cups stain and require special hand scrubbing to get the discoloration out. Also, the plates need to be scrubbed as well since they show crazing marks from the cutlery after continued use. Disappointed about that. In general, I like the plates and have no regrets.

Rated 4 out of 5 by MegB from 15 years and counting In lieu of fancy china, we registered for Colorwave Blue as our dishes (we only wanted everyday dishes). I'm happy to see the staying power of the set as I was just in love with the color and simple design and the fact it had NO flowers :-) and didn't consider if I'd be able to find replacements as accidents happened. It's been over 15 years and these are still our everyday dishes; we've replaced a couple here and there and added more bowls to our collection as those are the most used dish in our house. In a few years these dishes will be passed on to our oldest in college and I will get a new set (I'm ready for a change). I will be looking at Noritake again as I'm very happy I can still find replacements that match 15 years later. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by lm571 from Simple and classy I own all the plates, bowl, mugs, and even serving dishes in this collection and I love all of them. This pattern is so simple and classy, it's great for any kind of entertaining: from a simple get-together to huge holiday parties, this collection looks great with either holiday tabe cloths and napkins or a plain table top (either dark wood or light wood, i've owned both types of dinning room tables and either one still looks fabulous with these dishes). I've also dropped a plate on carpeting before and the color hasn't even chipped. BUT the best part, i don't have to wory about my pattern being discontinued since the colorwave blue is so popular. If someone was ever to break a dish, i can head to my local department store to just order another.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Kristie225 from Great Dishes for Everyday Dining My husband and I got these dishes (Colorwave Blue with the blue stripe around the edge of the plates) when we first got married. I wanted dishes that were pretty and yet casual enough to actually use everyday (instead of gathering dust in the cabinet). These dishes have performed well, no chips or scratches, and there are lots of coordinating pieces. We also bought the small, blue, square plates and the blue Christmas plates with the snowflake design. They have a quality feel to them, i.e. heavier than plastic plates but not too heavy.
