Rated 5 out of 5 by maura from Yes #sweepstakes I bought my husband a pair of these shoes at a local department store about 6 years ago, he worn them all the time they were worn out I went to buy him another pair at the same store and they don't sell NUNN BUSH anymore so i bought a more expensive brand (sperry) and my husband hated them , he said they were the most uncomfortable shoe. I even took them to a shoe repair shop to have them streached out still would not wear them. So i just went on NUNN BUSH website and ordered the same shoes i bought him in the store years ago. He LOVES them! Most comfortable shoe he owns. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by tom from Bring back the leather! Been on the hunt for this shoe since the last Squall pair wore out 6-8 years ago. It was a great fitting leather shoe back then. Now - a synthetic knockoff. Buyer beware! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 3 out of 5 by Pete from Comfort Gel needs to be rethought After wearing the shoes nearly daily for two weeks, the Comfort Gel in one of the shoes popped. I previously owned a pair of Nunn Bush shoes with Comfort Gel, and they also popped within several months. I walk a lot, but it's a bit ridiculous that the gel exploded after just a couple weeks of use. The gel is sticky, so after it's popped it's necessarry to buy inserts. Aside from this, the shoes are comfortable and look very nice.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Casual Guy from Will They Stretch to Conform? The all artificial materials may resist staining and water better than natural leather. The shoes grip at the widest part of the foot - the ball, probably to compensate for the lower heel grab contour, and tend to put my feet to sleep constricting circulation. In natural leather I'd expect stretching and molding to eventually conform to my foot. I'm unsure if this artificial material will do the same. The construction method seems rugged. If they eventually stretch and conform, I'd recommend them, but if they don't, I wouldn't.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Robbie331 from Best shoe I've ever owned First, I am 74 years old and I've never owned a shoe that is so comfortable, versatile, and yet durable as the Squall. I have just purchased my 5th pair. My first pair I discarded after simply wearing them out after years of hard use. My second is now the one I go to for really grungy jobs. The third is my everyday shoe and the last two are new. I am semi-stockpiling them so I'll have a pair until I die in case NB decides to discontinue the line. I will say that after the first pair they were no longer available in wide sizes (or maybe that's all they had where I purchased my shoes) and the regulars required some break-in. But the last two pair are wide and I wore them out of the box without any discomfort. Simply the best shoes I've ever put on these old feet. Thanks, Nunn Bush, and don't stop making this shoe.
