Rated 5 out of 5 by from Overall great iron This iron is really simple, easy and effective. The steam quickly gets wrinkles out and helps me iron much faster than my previous iron. When you have a family of 4 speed and accuracy are important and that is where this iron shines. My only con for this is that there is no self clean function ... when you have hard water that is definitely a nice to have as most of us just fill from the tap. Other than that it really is a great iron. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Iron I have owned many irons and this product by far is the best. It had some weight to it which is nice that you don't have to do much work to get the wrinkles out. I loved that it heats up quickly. It has a nice tip that gets in between buttons nicely and works great on collars. The plate with plenty of holes for steam works great on hanging curtains and the water spout does not leak. The water is easy to fill and can easily see if you need to refill. This is a great product. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a phenomenal product, and I don't even like irons! Rowena Focus Excel Iron in blue/white Model DW5260 I've never been much of an ironer. Truth be told, I gave up ironing in the 90s, preferring to wear clothing that didn't wrinkle...too much. Irons & I have never been friends, but more of a partnership of necessity. This love-hate relationship started in my early teens, when my parents decided it was time for me to do my own ironing. Burnt clothes, burnt hands were the norm, thus my current day ambivalence. I used to even bring all my linen shirts to the dry cleaners for pressing, rather than do it myself. But recently, I decided to stop wearing dry cleaning chemicals next to my skin, put on my wrinkled big girl pants, and give ironing another try --- and I'm so happy I did! Irons have come along way since the late 90s, LOL. And this one is the space-age cream of the crop! The first thing I noticed was it's construction - it seems like it is built to last, with a minimum of cheap plastic parts. It's unique shape appears to be ergonomically easier to handle (no wrist strain). The instructions were easy to read, in a typeface large enough to forego the reading glasses (Thank you Rowena). It has multiple settings for every kind of fabric in your closet. It heats up quickly & The steam-thingy doesn't spit & hiss at me or soak my clothes in places, but distributes the steam nice & evenly (away from my hands) over the garment. I like that. With my old irons, I would forego the unreliable steamers & use a water bottle to spritz my clothes as I ironed. This is much easier! Plus, it has a "vertical steam" button, so you can steam your clothes on the hanger. The automatic shut off is also reassuring in a house full of careless teenagers. This is a terrific, professional-quality product for people who iron or sew a lot. I can see myself using it long after the kids have moved out, LOL. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent model PROS: Produces a good amount of vapor. I like the iron's weight. Some may find it too heavy, but an iron can't be too light or the user will need to exert more force. The pointy front allows me to reach every nook and cranny of my clothes. The power cable is a bit longer than in other models, making it easier to use. CONS: The iron should prominently recommend the use of distilled water. In places like Pittsburgh, the water is very hard and with time it will clog the vapor tubes. I miss a water dispenser. It is difficult to load water into the iron without making it wet. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Iron! I was very happy with the Rowenta Focus Excel DW5260 Iron I received in exchange for my honest feedback. It worked very well. It was hot in seconds and it did a great job ironing. It ironed out the wrinkles very quick. I was very happy because I didn't have to keep going over and over the same area. It also does a great job steaming. I had a table covering that couldn't be ironed so I steamed it with the iron and it really worked very well. I would definitely recommend this Rowenta Iron and would definitely buy it as well. Works great! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Fancy iron not for the domestically challenged I feel it only fair to start my review with a confession. I actively select my family's clothing and time my dryer to avoid ironing. I am so domestically challenged in this area that oftentimes make things worse trying to iron them... So in a nutshell: this iron was too fancy and confusing for me. I will be gifting it to my avid quilter sister in law for Christmas. Why? To start with I had to read the directions just to get the darn thing going. It's got an auto-off function that has a light, and a pilot light to tell you when it's heated. It did turn out to be a nice feature once I realized I had to look at it sideways on but it would've saved my time to have a diagram or something to point that out. The dial turns the opposite way I've ever seen on an iron-the selected option must be on the bottom. Again maybe obvious to the standard ironer but definitely took me way too long to figure out. I honestly would have been done and had everything put away by the time I figured out how to setup this iron. The hand feel is terrific. It's light but sturdy and I could see using it for longer periods if needed. The spout to put water in is a good size. It did heat up quickly. For what it's worth I got my son's pants patched in the end and learned a few new things. Its a good iron but you really do need to know what you're doing. Good luck. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great steam iron This iron is just Great! The weight of it is perfect and love that it has a large water chamber. There is no leaking with this iron and the steam blasts through wrinkles and makes quick work of ironing. The shape of the iron is perfect for shirts to get in all the nooks and crannies. Rowenta makes a fabulous product and makes ironing less of a chore. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
